In 1890 A.C. Fairbanks introduced his revolutionary new "Electric" banjo model. It consisted of a scalloped brass truss that sits on the wood rim, with nickel silver sheet turned over a round brass sitting atop of the truss. This adds brilliance and sustain to the tone of a banjo. This is my take on this configuration, which uses much thicker nickel sheet. This thicker nickel brings out a very nice warmth which adds bass and makes the treble richer. Lots of volume, but not harsh. Forgiving to any playing style, works well with a light touch or heavy handed players. Another great model for finger picking.
